Saving Chance Gordon:

A Heartfelt and Beautiful Book Of Hope September 2, 2014

By Lisa K.

When I read the blurb for this book, I knew that it was something that I just had to read. Chance Gordon was born with Down Syndrome and is unable to speak. His beautiful story is told from his point of view and tells of the thoughts and feelings in his young head. He feels so much and so deeply. This story kept making me think of my own cousin with Down Syndrome and the struggles that he has faced. So many times I wanted to reach into this book and just hug him, that's how good June J. Austin has written this book. You get to experience Chance as a young boy, then the story smoothly transitions into his teenage years. Many times I found myself in tears and then in next moment he would say something that had me laughing out loud.
Without giving the story away, I will say that this book has a little bit of everything; sadness, hope, love, compassion, humor, dreams, and a beautiful HEA. It will stay with me as one of the most heartfelt and memorable books to touch my heart. I'm afraid that this review will not do such a wonderful story justice. I will say, thank you for writing such a beautiful book, June J. Austin.
